The Philadelphia Department of Public Health today reported an additional 12,396 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Philadelphia since last reported on Thursday, August 12. This brings the total number of fully vaccinated Philadelphians to at least 793,593, and the number of Philadelphians with at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine to at least 970,088. Currently, 63.9 percent of Philadelphia adults are fully vaccinated, and 78.1 percent of Philadelphia adults have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
The Department of Public Health reports 154 patients with COVID-19 are currently being treated in Philadelphia hospitals, with a total of 22 on ventilators.
In the last two weeks, six percent of COVID-19 tests in Philadelphia have come back positive. Thus far during the pandemic, 149,961 Philadelphians have been diagnosed with COVID-19, and 3,787 have succumbed to the virus. Philadelphia is averaging 201 new cases of COVID-19 per day over the last two weeks.
Philadelphia Eagles Donate 100 Tickets to Upcoming Preseason Game to Encourage Philadelphians to Get Vaccinated: On Tuesday, August 17, the first 50 people to be vaccinated at the Health Department’s vaccine clinic at the Grand Yesha Ballroom at 2308 West Snyder Avenue will receive two tickets to the Eagles preseason game against the New England Patriots on Thursday, August 19. The clinic will be offering doses of Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine. The City is grateful for this donation of tickets to help keep Philadelphians safe from COVID-19. COVID-19 Testing Services for Non-District K-12 Schools: The Health Department has posted a Request for Proposals from vendors to provide in-school COVID-19 testing services to K-12 schools (students and staff) that are not affiliated with the School District of Philadelphia, starting with the fall semester 2021.
